After having received at technical foul, a coach loses the following privileges for the rest of that contest:

• The right to stand (other than during a time-out)
• The right to use the coaches box

Valid reasons a coach can leave the coaches box while a game is in progress:

• Beckoned onto the court by an official, to attend to an injured player
• To approach the scorer's table to discuss a timing or scoring error (if play is stopped and no error is determined to exist, then that coach is charged a time-out)
